Welcome to Drift!

Pardon our dust. We are currently working on updating our site-layout and design! We are open for Roleplay, however, so pop into the discord and say hello! Check out our Guidebook for basic information on the site and do not hesitate to ask our staff if you have any questions. We are a friendly group of people that enjoy writing together (and perhaps creating some juicy in-character drama) and we would love for you to join us!

11/08/20: A mysterious disease seems to be targeting the plant life all throughout Drift. Decay and rot is breaking down trees and small sections of forest in many different places. Meanwhile, a new pack has begun to rise within Idaith while the Assyr pride begins to falter and slowly disappear within Veyr. Winter will be upon the continent soon, but what does this disease mean for the creatures that call this place home? Mysterious sounds and small quakes seem to be happening occasionally when no witnesses are present to see their source. Could they somehow be releated to the disease or are the creatures of Drift destined to be confronted with multiple dangers when the snow begins to fall?

Season

Autumn

The skies have begun to darken with autumn rains during the day and the nighttime temperatures are starting to plummet. Mornings outside of the desert lands are greeted by frozen dew and fog, and leaves have begun to change colors and fall from the trees. Winter is quickly approaching and with it comes unknown dangers. There is strength in numbers, but what about those that have no place to call home?

Forum: Kair

The southern borders of the land are covered in hills and forests, providing ideal security and food for herds and small creatures. The northern border of the territory sees snow in the winter months, and on very rare occasions the islands that it shares with Treakr may partially freeze and provide a somewhat safe passage to the north. This passage, however, can be dangerous as well, for during the melt the ice and snow connecting the islands breaks away and those who fall beneath them to the waters do not typically find themselves back on dry land ever again.

  1. Typically at least partially covered in ice, the Raeso Beach is the only way to cross the small island chain to Treakr from the Drift mainland. The waters here are cold and the waves can be quite dangerous, and passage in the summer months is typically recommended over attempting to travel here during the icy seasons.

  2. Stretching all the way from Kair to Treakr's coast, the Archipelago is a collection of islands that creates a passageway of sorts to and from each territory. The islands are fairly barren, though a small few contain some grasses and potentially a tree here or there. Passage in the winter is not recommended, as the area typically freezes and they become slippery and surrounded by bergs of ice.

  3. Stretching for a few miles in every direction, this forest is full of dead trees and thorns, making it nearly impossible for anyone to pass through without at least some injury. Prey rarely ventures here, though some small creatures may be able to hide beneath the thorny bushes and branches as a way to hide from those that may choose to attempt devouring them.

  4. Though not always covered in snow and ice, the Vai'el Tundra is typically cooler and somewhat chilly all year round. Though not the northernmost part of Drift as a whole, the coast and main portion of Kair does get hit by the cold winds off the coast of Treakr as well. Forests, caves, and plains can be found here, and the tundra does make up the vast majority of Kair's territory.
